The World-Cup was introduced in the season 1979/80. All the individual competition results of the winter go into the overall ranking. This title is one of the most prestigious in the nordic combination and for some athletes its worth is higher than a gold medal at World-Championships or Olympics because in order to win you have to perform well during the whole season.
