This competition series was invented in 1993 and is also called the “second division” of international skijumping. It gives young athletes a chance to compete on a high level and also serves as a platform for jumpers to get in shape again after injuries.

With good performances in the COC, athletes can earn nominations for the World-Cup team. A jumper needs to have scored at least one point in the COC in the past or the current season to be allowed to take part in a World-Cup event.
