It's still not clear whether Alessandro Pittin will be able to participate in the World Cup competitions at home in Val di Fiemme next weekend. The Italian fell in a training jump about ten days ago and suffered serious bruises. "The decision will be made by the middle of next week", head coach Fabian Ebenhoch told nordic-combined.com. "Pittin is undergoing intensive therapy and went cross country skiing once - that worked well at the beginning but then he felt pain again."

During a training camp in Predazzo the Italian team tried to implement the knowledge they got from the tests in the wind tunnel of the "Politecnico" in Milan. Lukas Runggaldier, Armin Bauer, Giuseppe Michielli, Samuel Costa and Mattia Runggaldier can benefit from an agreement between the Italian winter sports association and the institute. They simulated a competition jump with take off, transition to the flight and flight phase. Afterward the jumps were analyzed on video.

In Val di Fiemme a penalty race a team sprint and a individual Gundersen event will take place from February 3rd to 5th. And the three victories of Pittin caused a revolution for nordic combined and winter sports in Italy. Because of letters to the editor of the larges sports newspaper of Italy, "La Gezzetta dello Sport", the TV station RAI will broadcast the three competitions where "Pittbull" Pittin was successful on RAI Sport 2 on February 1st, 13th and 15th. And that is a good start...
