The jumping will be held in the modern Vogtland-Arena, that was opened in summer 2006 and where also the 2.5 km lap in cross country will go through. With an ice track and low alltitude during the flight and usually fair conditions the HS 140 facility is very popular. Many teams come to Klingenthal to train and the stadium with room for 30000 spectators offers athletes and fans enough atmosphere and space to enjoy the World Cup.
This weekend not only the two Gundersen-competitions, but also the fight for the overall title will be exciting. Jason Lamy Chapuis still has a good lead in points, but because of the strong performances of his opponents Akito Watabe and Mikko Kokslien the fight will probably not be over soon. After his two victories in Almaty, Mikko Kokslien is now focusing on other goals again: "Of course I'm very happy and calm right now but successes like these are always over soon. Almaty is already history again."
There's also a positive trend for the Austrians, who could achieve a podium result again at the competitions in Almaty. "Now the patience paid off and I think that this will also have a positive effect on the last four World Cup weekends", Bernhard Gruber is now optimistic for the upcoming tasks.
The US Americans also plan to compete again in Klingenthal after a break. Especially Taylor Fletcher will have special memories of Klingenthal after the 21-year-old could win a Continental Cup here late January. "It was a great weekend for me and I'm really looking forward to the great atmosphere at the World Cup here in Klingenthal", he said after this win.
