Ladies and Gentleman, clear the stage for Berni Gruber! It took a while, but so it's even nicer now."

Berni Gruber might really enjoy the spotlight after the improvement of his performances and the musician is kind of used to it because of this hobby. Gruber, who plays guitar as well as the drums, was in band called "The Telemarkers" together with his colleagues Tino Edelmann, Christoph Menz and Ronny Heer and they recorded the song "Fuer den einen Moment, kind of an anthem for nordic combined. And also at the event "Night of Sports" rock music lover entertained the audience by playing the guitar.

At the beginning of the season, at the competitions in Kuusamo and Lillehammer, the 29-year-old wasn't in the spotlight yet. He could improve then at the home events in Ramsau and Seefeld and achieved his first Top 10 results there. In January he got sick and so he could not compete in Chaux-Neuve. But Gruber, who is a fighter, not only in the race, continued to work hard and got over it.
"This World Cup season has it all", Gruber wrote on his website about this winter. It was not easy this year, to get in a perfect shape in jumping and in cross country. "Since Almaty I'm doing really well and I can show my full potential. Continue to cross your fingers for me maybe I can finish in the Top 5 of the overall World Cup", he said about the goals for the rest of the season.
But on the contrary to the possible rockstar attitude he is modest when it comes to his position in the team: "I don't think that I'm team leader of the Austrian team. I think I can still learn a lot from my experienced teammates like Mario Stecher. The most important thing is that it's a lot of fun to work with the team and compete."
And that although Gruber, who took part in 128 World Cup competitions so far and is an experienced athlete himself, is currently by far the best Austrian in the overall World Cup as seventh and with the Olympic bronze medal from Whistler and eight participations at Olympic Games and World Championships and two individual wins he can look back on a successful career. But arrogance is nothing for Gruber, who is always open in a good mood. Ladies and Gentlemen, all you can wish the rockstar without an attitude is that we can watch him in such a good shape like this weekend for a long time.
