Three days, three races, three victories

"It is unbelievable, three days, three races, three victories." Jason Lamy Chappuis could hardly believe his winning streak. The French won all three competitions in Seefeld. In the team sprint he benefited from the help of Sebastien Lacroix and he decided the two individual competitions in the finish.

Crucial in the third competition in Seefeld was the final lap of the cross country race. Italian Alessandro Pittin broke away of the leading group that consisted of 14 athletes and only Lamy Chappuis could keep up with the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010. The French was a bit too motivated and stepped the Italian on the pole and that broke. "I didn't want to do that. I was then waiting for Alessandro", Lamy Chappuis appologized for his mistake.

Luck for Pittin: A coach was standing only about ten meters from where it happened and could give Pittin a new pole right away. Although this took place in the decisive phase of the race, Pittin doesn't think that this was responsible for Lamy Chappuis' victory. "This was an unfortunate incident. Jason reacted very fair. I tried to break away in the final lap but I couldn't get away from Jason. He was better in the race today", said Pittin.

Joergen Graabak achieved his best World Cup result as third. Before this weekend in Seefeld his career best was a 28th place. The 20-year-old improved that with an eighth place and then this podium result. "This is a great feeling. I didn't expect that", said Graabak. "Of course I won't be able to achieve that every weekend, but I want to be in the Top 10 consistently."
