New year - new rules!

Right on time for the new year, there will be a change in the rules for nordic combined. From now on there will be an extra qualification for each event on weekends with two Gundersen competitions.

After coaches and athletes were against the fact that one qualification counts for both competitions the FIS now acted. The committee members were contacted to ask if they would confirm a change of the rules and right away and they gave positive feedback.

The provisional competition round (PCR) before the first Gundersen competition and the trial round before the second Gundersen competition will now reduce the number of participants in cross country race to 50. The Top 10 of the overall World Cup are still pre-qualified.

The qualification on the second day of competition will not count as a PCR-result if a jumping competition is not possible afterwards. If the PCR has to count for the second competition then all athletes can participate in the cross country race.
